Minister Stefanović for “Kosovo Online“: Continued hostility towards Serbs and a new threat to the region

Regarding the dismissal of the former commander of the so-called KSF Rrahman Rama and the appointment of Bashkim Jashari as his successor, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD told "Kosovo Online" that he does not expect any personnel solutions that would substantially change the policy pursued by the temporary Pristina institutions.

Stefanović told "Kosovo online" that everything they have shown over the past years, and especially over the last twelve months, indicates that they have no good intentions towards the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija or towards the stability and security in the entire region.

"First of all, according to United Nations Resolution 1244, no so-called Kosovo army must be established, nor are such institutions legitimate or formed in a legal way. It is important that our international partners know this. So, regardless of whether they participate in the work of the temporary Pristina institutions or support them, they need to know that it must be done in a legal way, in accordance with international law and UN Resolution 1244," said Stefanović, who has attended today the ceremony marking the centenary of the founding of the "Karađorđevo" Stud Farm, alongside Prime Minister Ana Brnabić.

Therefore, the Minister of Defence considers the personnel solutions of the temporary Pristina bodies unimportant, especially those related to the so-called army and their institutions, because he does not expect them to start pursuing a different policy than the one they have been pursuing so far.

“Unfortunately, this is a warning that Serbs are in danger and that senseless, dangerous and adventurous armed activity over the past few months threatens to destabilize the entire Balkans. That says a lot about the frivolity and bad intentions of Pristina institutions towards the north of Kosovo and Metohija, towards the Serbs, and I would say, towards the lives of all the people living in our southern province," Stefanović said.
