Ministry of Defence: Anyone who serves the country deserves the support of the state




 
Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin handed over keys to 20 active and retired members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces at the Great War Hall of the Old General Staff building today.
 
Minister Vulin emphasized that all those who are part of the defence system and who have dedicated their lives to serving the country and safeguarding our security can count on the support and assistance of their ministry and their state.
 
- The Ministry of Defence is making great efforts to address the accumulated housing problems. More than 18,000 members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces do not have an adequate housing solution, and we are trying every day to improve their position and find space for many of them to solve the housing issue – Minister Vulin said.
 
Reminding that in accordance with the order of the President of the Republic of Serbia and the Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces, Aleksandar Vučić, a project has been launched for the construction of apartments for all members of the security structures, Minister Vulin says that thanks to this, the largest number of housing issues will be solved.
 
- Anyone who has invested his life in the defence of our country deserves to be supported, they deserve, in accordance with the law and our capabilities, that we resolve the housing issue for them and their families. Today, the Serbian Armed Forces is richer for 20 satisfied members and their families can rightly say that the life they have dedicated to their country and their army is being paid off – Minister Vulin said.
 
Commander (Navy) Jovica Ćurčić, who is serving in the River Flotilla, will soon move to the Sunny Valley residential area in Novi Sad, where he has obtained a two-bedroom apartment. He does not hide the joy of resolving the housing issue and, with gratitude, says that it means a lot to him and his family.
 
Civilian Ljiljana Ranković, who works as a dental technician at the Ministry of Defence has also received the key of the apartment today. She says she is very happy and points out that in the apartment she will live with her husband, son and daughter.
 
Colonel Sasa Strahinić said that by solving the housing issue, he had solved the great thing of life. He is grateful to the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces for the apartment on Bežanijska kosa residential area adding that he is pleased because the structure and location of the apartment suits his family's needs
