Minister Vulin meets with Ambassador Chepurin

Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin has met today with the ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Serbia, Alexander Chepurin, with whom he discussed the current security situation and further enhancement of defence cooperation.

Speaking about the current situation in Kosovo and Metohija, Minister Vulin expressed his gratitude to the Russian Federation on the principled support to the territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia and efforts to find a compromise solution in that area.

- We express our special gratitude to the Russian Federation for the loud and consistent support of the positions of the Republic of Serbia against membership of the so-called Kosovo in Interpol, Minister Vulin pointed out, adding that the latest events have shown that the irresponsible moves of Pristina, when they pass without a clear condemnation of the international community, can easily jeopardise peace in Kosovo and Metohija.

Also, the Minister of Defence emphasized that he highly appreciates the understanding of the Russian Federation regarding the commitment of the Republic of Serbia to military neutrality and the desire to achieve excellent relations with the countries both in the East and in the West.

Ambassador Chepurin and Minister Vulin agreed that the defence cooperation has never been at a higher level and that its development will have a positive impact on the overall relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Serbia.
