Shooting Range Vrtogoš is the Military Infrastructure Facility of Highest Priority
Answering a reporter’s question on the current works on the shooting range Vrtogoš and the cooperation with the National Guard of Ohio, Minister Vulin stated that Vrtogoš is one of the top priority facilities of the military infrastructure for the increase of our operational training and teaching capacities which is currently in the final stage of construction.
- Once we finish Vrtogoš we will be able to say that the “South” Base certainly is a regional training centre, especially when the peacekeeping missions are in question. So far, we have invested in Vrtogoš some 59.7 million dinars and we will invest additional 212 million dinars. I wish to thank the US Armed Forces which have provided a donation of around 900,000 US dollars. When we finish Vrtogoš, our military will be able to practice shooting with all infantry calibres, to practice shooting from a convoy, and there will also be a mini training ground for armoured units, and firing from hand rocket launchers will also be practiced. When we finish Vrtogoš, which is very important to us, we will be able to say that the level of our capabilities for the training of units is significantly increased – Minister Vulin underscored.
According to his words, the deadline for the finalisation of works of Vrtogoš shooting range is 2018 and for the time being the work dynamics is met.
