Defence Minister visited Memorial Room for Victims of Kosovo and Metohija



Defence Minister Zoran Djordjevic has visited today the Memorial Room for Victims of Kosovo and Metohija, which was opened by the Association of Families of Kidnapped and Killed Persons in Kosovo and Metohija at its premises in the Beogradjanka building, in late June.
 
The Memorial Room is dedicated to the memory of the kidnapped and killed persons in the southern Serbian province in the period from 1998 to 2000 and from 2003 to 2004.
 
President of the Association, Simo Spasic, thanking to the Minister as he immediately accepted the invitation to visit the Memorial Room, guided the guest through the exhibition and pointed out the activities of the association on regulating the status of the families of civilian victims and erecting the monument to all the victims from Kosovo and Metohija.
 
Minister Djordjevic, in his address to members of the families of the kidnapped and the killed ones, pointed out that it was a deeply moving testimony of a time.
 
The exhibition is a warning to everyone and sort of memory of the casualties, respected not only by their families, but also by the state of Serbia, which will do anything to achieve that those who have committed crimes appear before the court and, in parallel with this, to make sure that the efforts to reconcile the peoples in the region continue, the Defence Minister said.
 
The presented photographs showed more than 2,500 kidnapped and killed civilians, soldiers and policemen among Serbs, Roma, Gorani, while in 26 photos there were Albanians who were working with the police.
