In many actions of Joint military and police forces in the last two days, five persons charged with human smuggling were detected and brought to justice.

In the wider region of Zajecar, they discovered three suspects in the organization and planning of human trafficking: D.N. from Belgrade and M.S. from Afghanistan, who were detained for up to 30 days, while the P.R. Belgrade was taken into custody for up to 48 hours.

In Presevo, two persons were taken into custody: A.K. and AK from Pakistan who were caught trying to smuggle in 26 illegal migrants in a mini-van, and in the wider area of Bujanovac, B.S. from Presevo was detained as he was caught in trying to smuggle seven illegal immigrants in a passenger vehicle. Those persons are held in custody for up to 48 hours and in the process of determining the degree of criminal responsibility before the competent prosecutor and judge.

Near Presevo, a mixed patrol discovered three abandoned vehicles with 26 illegal migrants, while a passenger vehicle with 15 migrants was intercepted at the checkpoint near Nis, and two unidentified persons escaped. Establishing their identity is currently in progress.

In the forthcoming period, the focus of the work of the joint forces engaged in the security of the state border with Bulgaria and Macedonia will be on the prevention of smuggling of illegal migrants.
