Chief of General Staff and Police Director visit Forces engaged at the border with Bulgaria



Serbian Armed Forces Chief of General Staff, General Ljubisa Dikovic, with Acting Police Director Vladimir Rebic,has visited today military and police forces in the city of Zajecar and Negotin municipality involved in the protection of the state border with the Republic of Bulgaria since March this year.

During the visit, General Dikovic inspected the areas of deployment and engagement of forces on protection of the state borders and the fight against illegal migrations and human trafficking, the conditions for the organization and implementation of support to engaged forces and gave directions for the realisation of tasks.

In the broader area of Vrska cuka and Mokranje border crossings, the Chief of the General Staff was briefed about the situation on the ground and the situation in the units that perform tasks on state border protectionby commanders of the units involved.

During the visit, the Chief of General Staff and the Police Director were accompanied by Lieutenant General Milosav Simovic, Army Commander, and Major General Zelimir Glisovic who will command the engaged military and police forces during the realization of joint tasks.

Formation of the military and police forces to perform joint tasks on the protection of state borders based on a new decision of the Serbian Government and powers of the President of the Republic is underway.
