Best wishes of the defence minister on the occasion of the Day of Directorate for Standardisation, Codification and Metrology

I congratulate all members of the Directorate for Standardisation, Codification and Metrology on 5th July – the Day of the Directorate.

It is for the first time this year that the Day of the Directorate for Standardisation, Codification and Metrology is celebrated as one of the military holidays in the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces.

On that day in 1863, in the Principality of Serbia, based on the Law of Milos Obrenovic, the Artillery Administration adopts the first standard entitled "Administration of all technical records made by the technical authorities". Continuing a tradition of more than one and a half centuries, which a small number of countries and armed forces in the region and beyond can be proud of, you successfully perform tasks of planning, organization, establishing coordination and thus enhancing the work of standardization, codification and metrology. Developing methods and techniques in the field of your work you gave your full contribution to the development and implementation of international treaties, protocols and plans for military-technical cooperation.

I congratulate you on your holiday, with the wish that in the forthcoming period you further improve the work in your profession and this area of importance for both the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces and the Republic of Serbia.
