Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces at Vidovdan 16 event




Stanislav Binicki Artistic Ensemble of the Ministry of Defence and Mixed Choir of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces performed last night at the Plateau of the Lazarica church in Krusevac, withn the Vidovdan 16 event.

This has been for the fourth time that the Binicki ensemble participates in the Vidovdan (St. Vitus Day) celebrations that are traditionally held in this city of the Rasina District.

The concert was attended by representatives of the City, the clergy and the large audience.

Under the baton of Katarina Bozic, the Ensemble and the Choir performed the compositions Tamo daleko (There Far Away), Oj Srbijo, mila mati (Hey Serbia, dear mother), Ovo je Srbija (This is Serbia) and La, la, la Lazare, an excerpt from the opera Lazarevo obretenije (The Miracle of Tsar Lazar).

Maestro Pavle Medakovic conducted the ensemble during the performance of compositions of March of King Milan, March of Field Marshal Stepa, Boyarka then March of King Alexander, Tobdzijsko kolo (Round of cannon operators) and March on the Drina and Gora jeci (Mountain cries) and Vidovdan. complemented by the vocal performance of Katarina Bozic.

The crowd on the Plateau of the Lazarica church enthusiastically greeted the concert by applause so, after calls for an encore, the Ensemble performed another composition.

Vidovdan16 programme began on 8th June with final performance of Nata Veljkovic Preschool Institution and ends on 2nd July, with the Balkan Athletics Championship. General sponsor of the event, as every year, is the City of Krusevac, and during all days of the event various cultural, sports, scientific and artistic programmes will be presented.
