Soldiers of June generation take oath





June 2016 generation of soldiers on voluntary military service took an oath today in the barracks of "Vojvoda Zivojin Misic" in Valjevo, "Duke Petar Bojovic" in Leskovac and "Airport" in Sombor.

Taking the military oath in Valjevo was attended by State Secretary at the Ministry of Defence Nenad Neric, Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Jovica Draganic, representatives of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, Kolubara District, the City of Valjevo, religious communities, relatives and friends of soldiers.

Congratulating the soldiers on the taken oath, general Draganic told them that they should "bear the words of the military oath in their hearts as a continuing obligation".

"Taking the military oath is a great act in the life of a man, it is an act of maturity, patriotism and sense of belonging. By this oath you accepted an extremely difficult, complex, honourable and sacred task – defence of the freedom and the dignity of the fatherland", General Draganic said and stressed that the Serbian Armed Forces and all its members will always be a reliable support to our country.
"Rest assured that the members of the Serbian Armed Forces, responsibly carrying out their tasks in the barracks, practice sites and training grounds throughout the country, in the Ground Safety Zone, in support of state authorities in securing the state border, in peacekeeping missions, watch over the security of the citizens of the Republic of Serbia", General Draganic said.

In the Second Training Centre in Valjevo, the oath was taken by 127 soldiers.

In the "Airport" barracks Sombor, 93 soldiers on voluntary military service took the oath today. The ceremony was attended by Milos Jankovic, Acting Assistant Minister for Human Resources, Lieutenant General Djokica Petrovic, Commander of the Training Command, Latinka Vasiljkovic, Head of the West Backa District, representatives of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, local government, churches, relatives and friends of soldiers.

Congratulating the soldiers, General Petrovic pointed out that "the one who is ready to defend Serbia, its citizens and the best values of our society, deserves the utmost respect".
In Leskovac barracks, the oath was taken by 94 soldiers.

The oath ceremony was attended by Radmila Jagodic, Acting Assistant Minister for Budget and Finance, Brigadier General Marinko Pavlovic, Chief of the Training and Doctrine Command of the Serbian Armed Forces, Brigadier General Jelesije Radivojevic, Deputy Commander of the Training Command, representatives of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, local government, churches, relatives and friends.


Congratulating the soldiers on taking the oath, general Pavlovic in his address pointed out that "we should be proud of these young men and women in the lines of the Serbian Armed Forces" and underlined that the Serbian Armed Forces will steadfastly remain on the path of strengthening defence capabilities, fostering traditions and keeping strong relations between the Armed Forces and the people.
