Rotation of Force Protection Platoon engaged in Lebanon



The Force Protection Platoon composed of 32 members of the Fourth Army Brigade left for Lebanon to execute tasks in a multinational operation to the United Nations – UNIFIL in the next six months.

The send-off celebration at the airport "Emperor Constantine" in Nis was attended by the commander of the Fourth Brigade, Brigadier General Zoran Lubura, with associates, representatives of the Centre for Peacekeeping Operations and the Army Command.

General Lubura wished the platoon members a safe journey and successful implementation of tasks in the multinational operation.

The Force Protection Platoon, which will be under command of Captain Ivica Barac in the next six months, will carry out tasks within the Italian contingent.

In the afternoon, the plane with 33 members of the Force Protection Platoon of the Third Army Brigade landed at the Nis Airport. They were replaced by the members of the Fourth Brigade after a six-month engagement in Lebanon.

Platoon members were welcomed by the commander of the Third Army Brigade, Brigadier General Mile Jelic. Besides to representatives of the Third Brigade, the Centre for Peacekeeping Operations and the Army Command, the welcome ceremony was attended by families of the platoon, numerous relatives and friends.
