Rotation of the Serbian peacekeepers in Lebanon



Defence Minister Zoran Djordjevic and Minister of Interior Nebojsa Stefanovic, have seen the members of the Serbian Armed Forces off to the multinational operations in the Republic of Lebanon, tonight.

From the Konstantin Veliki Nis airport, members of the infantry company from the composition of the Fourth Army Brigade, under the command of Major Miodrag Mladenovic, and staff officers and members of the National Support Element, were deployed to Lebanon. In the next six months, in Lebanon, the infantry company will carry out tasks as an independent unit, within the Spanish contingent.

Ministers Djordjevic and Stefanovic, together with the Deputy Chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Jovica Draganic and the commanders of the Third and Fourth brigades Brigadier Generals Mile Jelic and Zoran Lubura, respectively, shook hands with all the members of the contingent and wished them a safe journey and a successful execution of tasks in Lebanon.

Earlier that evening, officers and soldiers of the Infantry Company, staff officers and members of the National Support Element, who had been on a mission since November 2015, returned from Lebanon.

They were welcomed at the airport by Lieutenant General Jovica Draganic, Brigadier Generals Mile Jelic and Zoran Lubura, with their associates, as well as many friends and relatives. General Draganic welcomed them to the Republic of Serbia and congratulated them on the results achieved during the execution of tasks in the mission in Lebanon.
