Defence Minister receives Mufti Jusufspahic



Defence Minister Zoran Djordjevic spoke with Mufti of the Islamic Community of Serbia, Muhamed Jusufspahic, on further development of cooperation with that religious community in the framework of strengthening the religious service in the Serbian Armed Forces.

At the meeting, it was concluded that the Serbian Armed Forces has built a very high level of cooperation with the Islamic Community in Serbia as well as with representatives of other religions.

Minister Djordjevic stressed that the decree on the introduction of religious services in the Serbian Armed Forces enabled exercising the freedom of religion and that the religious service in the Serbian Armed Forces is an organized form of activity of traditional churches and religious communities in the military environment.

However, Djordjevic said that the religious service in the Serbian Armed Forces contributes to the development, building, maintaining, and increasing its operational capabilities, and thus the execution of all defined missions and tasks. With this in mind, the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces will continue to develop cooperation with religious communities in the context of the religious service.
