Ministers Djordjevic and Sertic visit Prva Petoletka - namenska inTrstenik



The ministers of defence and economy Zoran Djordjevic and Zeljko Sertic visited today in Trstenik "Prva Petoletka – namenska" Company which marks the 67th anniversary of existence. The meeting with the management of the factory was attended by Assistant Minister for Material Resources Nenad Miloradovic, PhD, and Head of Department for Defence Technology Major General Bojan Zrnic. The ministers of defence and economy visited the plants of the factory that were separated from the holding company in 2008, and talked with the employees of the company.

Speaking about the successful business year of the factory, Minister Djordjevic pointed out that "Prva Petoletka – namenska" Company represents an important segment of the Serbian defence industry and that the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Defence will continue to support it.

- From 2012 until today the factory made a big step forward. Today it settles all obligations to employees and the state, which is good news, as well as the fact that the revenue doubled in that period, the Minister said adding that the increase in exports is expected.

Djordjevic praised the management of the "Namenska" company from Trstenik that in the past had good "understanding" with employees and invested a lot of efforts and brought the factory to stable position. Minister Djordjevic said that the "Petoletka" company, through cooperation with other factories of the Serbian defence industries, will make further progress.

Director of "Prva petoletka – namenska" Andjelka Atanaskovic said that the factory has successfully coped with very difficult conditions in which it operates.

- We have a very diverse programme which is important for the country. Since 2014, we have regularly paid salaries, we have paid all the taxes and contributions, and after thirty years, we managed to buy nine new machines, which is a big progress for this factory, said Atanaskovic and added that it would not be possible without the state aid but also the understanding of the employees.

As part of its business policy, "Prva Petoletka – namenska" Company made a decision, after already implemented SRPS/ISO 9001 and national military SORS standard, which is compatible with NATO standards from that series, integrate also the standards - environmental management systems SRPS/ISO 14001, occupational health and safety management system SRPS/ISO 18001 and information security management systems SRPS/ISO/IEC or 27001. In this way, it ranked among the three defence industry factories and overhaul depots that have introduced "integrated management systems". Other defence industry factories are in the phase of intensive preparations for the introduction of the integrated management systems in their operations.

"Prva Petoletka – namenska a.d.", that ended 2015 with a turnover of over one billion and one hundred million dinars, employs 630 workers. The factory represents a significant part of the Serbian defence industry and is an important negotiator on behalf of the Ministry of Defence and the Government of the Republic of Serbia with Airbus and the Russian partner for future cooperation in the overhaul of helicopters, in the "Moma Stanojlovic" Institute , and represents a significant factor in the procurement of spare parts for aviation as well as an important supplier of the Serbian Armed Forces in the mortars programme.
