Minister of Defence meets Indian Ambassador

Defence Minister Zoran Djordjevic and Ambassador of India to Belgrade Narinder Chauhan pointed out at the meeting today the importance of the traditionally good political and overall relations between the two friendly countries.

Djordjevic and Chauhan agreed that the cooperation between Serbia and India in the field of defence could be enhanced in all areas. With this goal, at the beginning of the year, the Indian Defence Attaché was presented the capacities of the CBRN Training Centre as well as a catalogue of possible advancement courses at the MMA Medical Faculty.

This year, on the invitation of the Indian Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Defence will participate in the International Exhibition of Arms and Military Equipment DEFEXPO INDIA 2016, which takes place in the Federal State of Goa, from 28 to 31 March, which is one of the important steps when it comes to the military economic cooperation.

Minister Djordjevic thanked for the support that India offers to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia, as well as our efforts to resolve all the outstanding issues in Kosovo and Metohija by peaceful means, through dialogue between the parties concerned. This support was clearly expressed in a vote at the UNESCO General Conference in Paris in November 2015.
