Ministry of Defence protects the standard of its members

In the New Year's issue of the magazine "Odbrana" the topic is military budget. On six pages, the most responsible people of the Ministry of Defence speak on finances of the army, how and on what the funds are spent. Special emphasis is placed on preserving the standards of members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, on which we are giving you the most important data.

The Ministry of Defence has managed, through savings in current expenditure in the 2015 budget, to allocate the funds for 2016, in order to retain the current number of employees in accordance with the personnel manning plan.

Also, based on analytical assessment of formation positions in the Special Brigade, the military police battalions and reconnaissance units, depending on the severity and type of new obligations and duties of professional soldiers and officers executed in these units, elements of formation positions for the highest number of professional soldiers, non-commissioned officer corps and part of the lower rank officer staff have been altered, which will ensure higher salaries at the start of 2016. In this way, the conditions were created for their progress and accelerated career guidance, which will have a direct impact on improving their standard.

Bearing in mind the success of the Ministry of Defence in all segments, especially in the field of savings as well as the increased commitment of employees, particularly those employed in the Serbian Armed Forces who have the lowest wages, at the end of 2015, Defence Minister by his authority awarded a cash award of 10,000 dinars to more than 3,000 professional members of the Serbian Armed Forces with the lowest incomes, for achievements in service.

Also, to improve the financial status of the employees, through the allocation of funds in the budget in the next year as well, for all those who are entitled to it and who want it, it is possible to solve the housing problem with subsidized mortgage loans (and there are more and more interested persons every year), or they can wait for an apartment to be given to them.

We remind that, with the support of the Government of Serbia, taking into account the social status of the employees, an increase in earnings of 2 per cent has been secured, starting from December salaries that will be paid in early January 2016 as an advance payment.
