Stanislav Binicki at concert in Novi Sad



Last night, at the main stage of the Serbian National Theatre in Novi Sad, a multimedia solo concert of Professor Nebojsa Buric, entitled 'Twilight in the south', was held in honour of Bozidar Boki Milosevic, one of our largest and most significant music artists.

Within the rich programme that lasted three hours, accompanied by the 'Stanislav Binički' Art Ensemble of the Ministry of Defence under the direction of maestro Pavle Medakovic, Buric performed on the clarinet, frula, gigaphone and yeskophone a series of famous and memorable compositions by Boki Milosevic, from 'Prizren filigree', 'Kostana's soft cocek' to 'Rugovo echo'. In addition, the audience enjoyed in the sounds of Vranje melodies as well as in Santana's 'Europe'.

The main features of the gala concert and extraordinary musical and theatrical event consisted of concepts enriched by arrangements, including piano duo, ethnic jazz quartet, folk pop band, symphony orchestra, solo clarinet, and the contemporary electronic music.

- 'Binicki' is one of the leading ensembles in our country and it makes me feel honoured that it accepted to be here tonight as the main performer of the programme in honour of the virtuoso and a mutual friend Boki Milosevic – professor Buric said.

Speaking about the long-term cooperation with 'Binicki', Bozidar Boki Milosevic pointed out that after so many years he feels as one of its permanent members:

- I am happy that, on this occasion, Nebojsa Buric plays my compositions, but mostly because he is accompanied by a top-quality ensemble.

The highlight of the concert was marked by the joint appearance of the two virtuosos on the clarinet, Bozidar Boki Milosevic and Nebojsa Buric who, accompanied by the musicians of 'Binicki' performed Boki's 'Balkan impressions', a collection of compositions that have spread throughout the world being composed and interpreted as a combination of all musical styles and which will forever remain among the most valuable musical heritage.

Students of the Ballet School in Novi Sad provided visual scenic atmosphere, supported with the performance of the backing band of Nebojsa Buric, Rade Zdravkovic and pianists Prof. Aleksandra Rakic and Vladimir Zivanovic, MSc. Novi Sad audience awarded by thunderous ovations both the performing virtuosity of the two masters of the clarinet and the musicians of 'Binicki', and as a token of gratitude Buric presented a Certificate of Appreciation for fostering artistic value in music and literature 'Filigree' to the 'Stanislav Binicki' Artistic Ensemble of the Ministry of Defence on behalf of the Association. The award was received on behalf of the Ensemble by its Head, Navy Commander Svetozar Vasileski.
