Promotion of the book about Milunka Savic
At the atrium of the Central Military Club today the book "Milunka Savic knight of Karadjordje Star and the Legion of Honour" by a group of authors was presented, in organization of the Association of Descendants and Admirers of Serbian war volunteer 1912-1918 and the Association of War Volunteers 1912-1918 their descendants and admirers of Belgrade.
The book was published in the course of the second issue of the edition "Serbia 1914-1918", by publishing house "Prometheus" Novi Sad and Radio-Television of Serbia, and was written by Dr Vidoje Golubovic, Predrag Pavlovic and Novica Pesic.The book was presented by owner of "Prometheus" and editor of the edition Zoran Kolundzija, editor of RTS and author of the film and exhibition about Milunka Savic Sladjana Zariz, editor for the publishing activities of the RTS and executive editor of the second issue of the edition Dragan Indjic and on behalf of the author, the attendees were addressed by Vidoje Golubovic.
They pointed out that Milunka Savic was not only a soldier, but also a mother, a post-war humanist, a nurse, a proud, working and honest woman, synonymous with patriotism, and a hero in war and in peace. It was also emphasized that there is a big difference, "where Milunka Savic is now, and where she was two years ago," before the film and the exhibition were made available to the public, and that there still remains a need to do research on her and her life.
Today's promotion was also attended by family members of Milunka Savic.
