Army Commander visited members of the infantry company taking part in the exercise in Germany



Army Commander Lieutenant General Milosav Simovic, accompanied by Third Army Brigade Commander brigadier General Mile Jelic, visited today the members of the infantry company of the 31st Infantry Battalion of the Third Brigade that are taking part in the exercise Combined Resolve in Germany.

With the Army delegation at the Multinational Hohenfels Training Center, there were defence attaché of the Republic of Serbia to the Federal Republic of Germany Lieutenant Colonel Aleksandar Cera and US defence attaché to Serbia Colonel Taft Blackburn, who organized the departure of SAF members to Germany.

During their stay in Germany, General Simovic met with Lieutenant General Ben Hodges, Commander of US European Command. The two generals discussed the results of the present cooperation, and options for its further improvement in the next period. General Hodges stressed that the SAF members had displayed a high level of training and preparedness during the exercise.

The Combined Resolve exercise is being held from 9th May to 4th June at the Hohenfels Training Center, in organization of the European Command of the US Armed Forces. So far, the SAF members have participated in 10 exercises in this center. Five units at platoon level participated in those exercises, while this is the first time that a company is participating.

Around 4,700 members of armed forces of Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Italy, Lithuania, Moldova, Romania, Slovenia, Serbia, U.S. and Montenegro are taking part in this year’s exercise.

The goal of the exercise is to improve interoperability and mutual understanding of army members of partner countries in realization of peace support operations in multinational environment, which also raises the level of preparedness of our Armed Forces for realization of tasks from the first mission.

Members of the infantry company of the 31st infantry battalion from Zajecar in the formation of the multinational battalion will practice steps and procedures in offence and defence operations, combat in urban conditions, and evacuation of the wounded.
