Gala concert "War and Peace" in Novi Sad
On the occasion of marking seventy years since the victory over fascism, an all-night ceremonial gala concert of most beautiful Russian songs was held today at the Main stage of the Serbian National Theater in Novi Sad, titled “War and Peace”. Accompanied by the MoD Art Ensemble Stanislav Binicki that was conducted by MSc Pavle Medakovic and Major Igor Mitrovic, and Abrasevic Choir that was conducted by Ivana Tonkov, soloists of the renowned Alexandrov Choir, Bolshoi Theater and Russian Cossacks State Ensemble, and eminent opera singers from Serbia gave their performances.
With performances of famous Russian songs, such as Sacred War, Kalinka, Katyusha and other songs beloved in our country, the performers touched the deepest corners of the souls of the vast Novi Sad audience.
Performances of all numbers were greeted with loud applause and cheers of amazement, and during the song There, Far Away, the audience sang along with the soloists.
During the last twenty minutes of the “concert for the soul”, the audience was on their feet, almost constantly clapping along the rhythm of the melodies. The audience was rewarded with numerous encores.
With the tonight’s concert, Stanislav Binicki, Abrasevic and the solo singers gave the citizens of Novi Sad a night to remember.
