Preparations for the central ceremony on the occasion of the Serbian Armed Forces Day in Takovo

At the memorial park Takovo Bush, the checking of the preparation of units of the Serbian Armed Forces for the marking of the two centuries since the Second Serbian Uprising and the Serbian Armed Forces Day that will take place at this historical landmark on Thursday, 23rd April, was conducted today.

This year’s ceremony, rich in spirit of the two important holidays, along with the paying of military and state respects to the insurgents and laying of wreaths, will also be marked with the close-order drill of the Guard and the handover of military flags that will be presented to SAF units at brigade level by the President of the Republic of Serbia.

Chief of the General Staff of Serbia Ljubisa Dikovic evaluated the preparations with the mark “very good”, stressing that all SAF members that will be in Takovo on Thursday will surely be proud for being a part of this ceremony.

Today’s display was attended by President of the Municipality of Gornji Milanovac Milisav Mirkovic, and the visitors of Takovo on Thursday will also have the opportunity to see the flypast of aircraft, display of arms and equipment, march of the old flags that will become a part of the history, and to enjoy the degustation of the military bean soup.
