Great results of our members at the 28th Belgrade Marathon



MoD and SAF members accomplished noted results today at the 28th Belgrade Marathon. The best results were achieved in the marathon race, where in women’s competition at the official Serbian Championship professional soldier Cegar Lukic Mariana won first place. Mariana is a member of the sports platoon of the Military Academy and she ran the 42.195 meters long track only ten months after she gave birth.

In male competition, the third place was taken by Lieutenant Colonel nenad Milosavljevic (J-7), fourth place by Captain Blazo Maksimovic from Air Force and Air Defence, and the fifth place was taken by professional soldier Miroslav Markovic from the Training Command.

Secretary of State Zoran Djordjevic and Major General Goran Radovanovic debuted in the half marathon race.

4484 competitors from 40 countries participated in the 28th Belgrade Marathon, including over 150 MoD and SAF members.

7 MoD and SAF members ran in the most difficult discipline, 42.195 kilometers marathon, while 150 MoD and SAF successfully completed the half marathon track of 21.1 kilometers.

Winners of the marathon race were Silas Sang from Kenya in male competition and Abebu Gelean Adugna from Ethiopia in women’s competition, while the half marathon was won by Serbian competitors Velimir Bojovic and Ana Subotic.

100 cadets of the Military Academy and 50 students of the Military High School helped in organization of the 28th Belgrade Marathon.
