Analysis of operative and functional capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces in 2014
Regular annual analysis of operative and functional capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces in 2014 has been held today at the Military Club in Novi Sad.
The analysis was attended by Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic, Defence Minister Bratislav Gasic, Head of the General Staff General Ljubisa Dikovic, and members of the collegium of the Minister of Defence and Head of the General Staff.
During the analysis, they reviewed conditions in which the members of the Serbian Armed Forces built their operative and functional capabilities, tasks conducted in 2014, the state of the staff and logistics in the function of building operative capabilities, capabilities of the Army, Air Force and Air Defence and the Training Command for conducting assigned missions, and the elements of operative and functional capabilities in 2014, as well as other matters affecting the maintenance and development of capabilities of the Armed Forces of Serbia.
Addressing the participants, President Tomislav Nikolic stressed that he was content with the assessment, as improvement was apparent comparing to the previous year. He pointed out that, as Chief Commander, together with he Government of the Republic of Serbia, he would always help the military achieve its goals.
- Our military has become exemplary in the region and beyond – President Nikolic stressed.
He also said that he was aware that the Armed Forces of Serbia share the fate of their citizens, including the hardships, and that each soldier should be given attention and instilled hope in better times.
After the analysis, a display of arms and equipment to be implemented in SAF armament in the future period was organized.
