Contract on the Program for Long-Term Housing Loans for professional military personnel signed





Minister of Defence Bratislav Gasic and President of the Executive Board of Societe Generale Bank Frederic Coin signed today at the Grand Veteran Hall of the old General Staff the Contract on the Program for Long-Term Housing Loan for professional military personnel for 2015.

So far, this way, 1,783 SAF officers and noncommissioned officers have resolved their housing issue under very good conditions.

As Minister Gasic stressed, when there is will, results have to come as well, which was proven by today’s signing of the Contract, which is an important step in resolving the housing issue of SAF and MoD members.

- With the decision to offer members of the Armed Forces and the Ministry the lowest interest rate, Societe Generale supported us in one of our most important tasks. We continue creating better working conditions and providing grater material security for SAF members – Minister Gasic stressed.

According to him, the number of those waiting for their housing issue to be solved is smaller almost each day, which is a great result achieved in the defence system during the past two and a half years.

- This result must be much greater yet, and this is why it is important for us to have the support of such eminent bank such as yours, and I expect that other banks in Serbia will follow by your example – Minister of Defence stated, adding that the members of the defence system who work daily on preservation of peace have come one step closer to finding peace in their homes with this contract.

Conveying his content with the signing of the contract with the Ministry of Defence, President of the Executive Board of Societe Generale Bank Coin stressed that members of the defence system are regular in paying their loans. He also explained that, with the signed contract, the bank had provided very favorable conditions for the Serbian soldiers when it comes to housing loans.

- Societe Generale Bank is the leader in the market of housing loans, because it has around 12,000 clients who have taken housing loans – Coin stressed, adding that this bank is a credible partner for such a project.

According to him, the payment period is 360 months, and the interest rate 3.5 percent with six-month EURIBOR, and 25% deposit is provided by the Ministry of Defence.

As Coin stressed, the goal is to establish firm and long-term relations with our clients.

As it was stated, approving of the loan is not conditional on the initial deposit of the beneficiary, there is no age limit at the time of application, and the repayment of the loan can be done until the beneficiary’s age of 70. Also, this year, 500 million dinars have been allocated for this purpose, and the Societe Generale Bank is the first and the only bank that has responded to the call of the National Corporation for Insuring Housing Loans to sign the contract on realization of the Program for Long-Term Housing Loan Program for professional military personnel for 2015. SAF members will also have the advantage of quick processing of documentation, and that the real estate to be bought does not have to be newly built.

Answering press inquiries about the reports on the causes of the resent helicopter crash, Minister Gasic stressed that he expected for the reports of the commissions formed by Head of the General Staff of Serbia General Ljubisa Dikovic would be submitted to his review today, and that he was in his family house in Krusevac at the moment of the helicopter crash.
