Meeting of Analytical Group for the Implementation of Resolution 1325



Састанак Аналитичке групе за примену Резолуције 1325The meeting of the Analytical Group of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces for analysis of the implementation of the National Action Plan (NAP) for the implementation of the UN Security Council Resolution 1325 which affirms the role and place of women in the security sector and gender responsible personnel policy was held today at the Strategic Planning Department. Aside from members of the Analytical Group, the meeting was also attended by Secretary of State at the Ministry of Defence Zoran Djordjevic, also the President of the Government’s Political Council for NAP implementation, Head of Strategic Planning Department of the Defence Policy Sector Brigadier General Slobodan Joksimovic, and adviser to the Minister of Defence for gender equality Jovanka Saranovic, PhD.

Secretary of State Djordjevic stressed that what the Ministry of Defence had done on the implementation of the Resolution 1325 had been recognized outside the Ministry as well, and that “after the first 100 mile step we have made, they will ask even more from us, which will be less recognizable”.

Састанак Аналитичке групе за примену Резолуције 1325Brigadier General Joksimovic greeted the members of the Analytical Group on behalf of the host – the Strategic Planning Department which has been recognized within the Ministry of Defence and beyond as the carrier of activities of NAP implementation and the gender equality principle.

Director of the Institute for Strategic Research Jovanka Saranovic spoke about the activities she had conducted in the past period as the adviser to the Minister for gender equality.

During the meeting, it was concluded that the planned tasks of the Analytical Group in 2014 had been fully realized and the dynamic of the realization of the Activity Plan for 2015 was also devised. Particular attention was given to gender analysis in May and September, organization and implementation of guided interviews and education of members of the Analytical Group.
