Improving cooperation with the Belgrade Association of Defence Attaches



Head of the International Military Cooperation Department Battleship Captain Milan Konjikovac received the Doyen and Vice-Doyen of the diplomatic corps in Belgrade Colonel Jerzy Szczepaniak and Jozef Vistavel and the newly elected President of the Belgrade DA Association Colonel Iliy Leontin.

Battleship Captain Konjikovac thanked for the present cooperation, characterized by constructive dialogue and good relations based on mutual respect. He conveyed hope that such trend will continue in the future period as well, stressing that mutual understanding is instrumental for establishment of favorable environment for improvement of the cooperation.

Head of the International Military Cooperation Department introduced his interlocutors with the priorities of the Republic of Serbia during its chairing over OSCE and stated that Serbia’s goal is to direct activities of the organization in a transparent, unbiased and objective way. He also spoke about activities of the Ministry of Defence in the process of accession to the EU and the cooperation with NATO through existing mechanisms of the Partnership for Peace, as an optimal framework for achieving security goals and improvement of defence capacities, with respect for military neutrality of the Republic of Serbia.

In conditions of dynamic security environment, Serbia recognizes the need for firmer connections, which is reflected through its participations in regional initiatives and its endeavors to be a stability factor in the region.

Both sides stated that the quantity and quality of realized planned and not planned activities in the past year and the planned ones in 2015 are very high and expressed willingness for its further improvement.
