Minister Gasic and General Dikovic visited the Book Fair
Minister of Defence Bratislav Gasic and Head of the General Staff of Serbia General Ljubisa Dikovic visited today, with members of the Collegium and Book Fair representatives, the 59th International Belgrade Book Fair and the booth of Odbrana Media Center.
Head of the Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Defence Colonel Petar Boskovic greeted the visitors and stressed that the visit of the higher military staff to the booth of Odbrana Media Center has become a tradition.
Director of Odbrana Media Center Colonel Stevica S Karapandzin presented the activities of this publishing house and the titles published in the period between two Book Fairs, particularly stressing the 12 titles that have been presented at the booth each day of the Fair.
Minister Gasic, General Dikovic and representatives of the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces of Serbia attended the presentations of the following titles: “Rulers of Serbian Lands” by Milivoje Majovic, MSc, “Hagiographies of Warrior Saints” by Colonel Borislav Grozdic, PhD, “Young Bosnia” by Radoslav Gacinovic, PhD, “Voivode Petar Bojovic – Between criticism and appraisal” by Bozidar Jovovic, “The Rankovic case – From KOS archives” by a group of authors, “Missile systems in defence of small countries” by Major General Miodrag Gordic and Major Ivan Petrovic and “Informational Logistics Systems” by retired General Danko Jovanovic.
Moreover, Colonel Karapandzin presented the books published on the occasion of marking the jubilee of the centenary of the Great War – “1914-2014 Why review” by Mile Bjelajac, PhD and “Memoires” by General Svetomir Sveta Djukic, and the two books about Serbian military ambulance in the Great War and the 32nd edition of the book “The Great War of Serbia”.
The 2015 Calendar of the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces of Serbia which is dedicated to marking the centenary of the Battle for Belgrade in 1915 was also presented, and today’s presentation of the activities of Odbrana Media Center was enriched by Ljubomir Ljuba Manasijevic who performed a song dedicated to all Serbian warriors.
Minister Gasic, General Dikovic and members of the Collegium also visited the booths of publishing houses “Pravoslavna Rec”, “Official Gazette” and “Institute for textbook publishing”.
Tonight, the booth of Odbrana Media Center was also visited by Minister of Justice Nikola Selakovic, and the new titles of this military publishing house were presented to him by Director Colonel Stevica S Karapandzin.
