Promotion of new SAF noncommissioned officers
Ceremonial promotion of noncommissioned officers and the end of advancement program, of the fifth generation of attendants of the basic training for non-commissioned officers was held at the barracks “National Hero Stevica Jovanovic” in Pancevo.The ceremony was attended by Head of the General Staff of Serbia General Ljubisa Dikovic, State Secretary at the Ministry of Defence Zoran Djordjevic, Assistant Minister of Defence for Human Resources Milos Jankovic, members of the Collegium of Chiefs of General Staff, representatives of the local administration, religious communities, Ministry of the Interior, and families and friends of the new noncommissioned officers of the Armed Forces of Serbia.
Congratulating the attendants of the Fifth class of the basic training for noncommissioned officers that have been advanced to their first noncommissioned rank, Head of the General Staff said that the Armed Forces of Serbia are proud to be giving new noncommissioned officers.
- Soldier, noncommissioned officer and officer cooperate on a mission and achieve results together. You have come a long
way to your first noncommissioned rank. First, you passed the selection and training in order to be admitted to SAF units as professional soldiers. With objective and stern selection, you managed to attend the Leadership Course as top soldiers in your units, and you passed it with flying colors. Then, you passed the basic training for noncommissioned officers with astonishing success, having patiently passed all the steps, responsibly, honorably, righteously. With your dedication, quality and relation to the tasks and your love for your military profession, you have deserved to become noncommissioned officers – General Dikovic stressed, reminding of the glorious tradition of noncommissioned officers in the Serbian military.- Without good noncommissioned officers, there are no good units or soldiers, and, without them, all genial strategies are in vain, because there is no one to conduct them. All citizens of Serbia should know that SAF soldiers and senior staff at the Ground security zone and in peacekeeping missions across the world and in fights against all threats to our country’s security guard and will guard the lives of our citizens and the respectability and honor of our country. This year, when Serbia marks two grand jubilees – the centenary of the beginning of the Great War and 70 years since the liberation of Belgrade, with the military parade “March of the Victorious”, we have shown that the military guards the memory of our glorious ancestors, heroes of world wars, and that it fosters the liberation heritage of its tradition. Conducting our tasks honorably
and righteously, we have shown that our country is in our hearts – General Dikovic concluded. Noncommissioned officers and guests were also addressed by Commander of the Center for Training and Advancement of Noncommissioned Officers Major Sasa Petkovic, stressing that the basic course has been completed by 74 attendants, and the honor to congratulate his colleagues on the end of their course as the best in class belonged to Sergeant Nikola Savic.
Since 2010, the Center for Training and Advancement of Noncommissioned Officers has trained professional soldiers and noncommissioned officers for all duties in the career development.
