Six decades since promotion of first class of engineer NCOs

On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the graduation of the first class of regularly trained NCOs after the First World War, from 1952 to 1954, reception of the first post-war non-commissioned officers of engineer service was organized in the Central Military Club in Belgrade.

On behalf of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff and the Ministry of Defence they were welcomed by the Commander of the Central Logistic Base Brigadier General Petar Latkovic and Head of the Department of Infrastructure of the Ministry of Defence, Colonel Milorad Djokic with their associates, presenting to them the situation in the Armed Forces and the engineer service today.

- People like you, who spend their entire careers in the military serving their country and achieving great results, and who in no way tarnish name of their profession and military dignity, deserve special respect. With your work, knowledge and dedication in the most difficult times for the military you set up stable foundations of the engineer service. We, your younger colleagues, in the new circumstances, are striving to maintain and upgrade these foundations as much as possible. As engineers, we are proud to be friends with you today because there is almost no arms that can boast that their first class mark six decades since graduation, and it is on the day when the youngest class of cadets of the Military Academy at a ceremony in front of the National Assembly is promoted to officers – General Latkovic said conveying congratulations by Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff General Dikovic to the audience.
