Improving managment skills



Лидерски курс за руководиоце организационих јединица Министарства одбранеIn organization of the Ward for Psychological Activity Development of the Human Resources Sector at the Ministry of Defence, a Leadership Course has started today for managers of organizational units of the Ministry of Defence, with the goal of strengthening capacities of those employed in managing positions.

According to the lecturers and trainers, psychologists from the Ward for Psychological Activity Development Mirjana Veljkovic, Vesna Pejcinovic and Dusan Malesevic, professional training will be realized through instructional seminars, workshops, group exercises and discussion.

- The goal of this course is to improve current and gain new knowledge about the role and tasks of managers, skills of managing and planning, communicating and building positive relations, but also about decision making, forming and managing teams, stress, resolving conflicts, motivating employees and subordinates, and implementing changes – Mirjana Veljkovic stressed. As the expected result in course participants, she sees improved knowledge and skills necessary for successful realization of tasks in all segments of managing human resources.

Лидерски курс за руководиоце организационих јединица Министарства одбранеParticipants of the seminar will go through seven modules, starting from self-evaluation of management style, over competency model in managing human resources, decision making and team management, motivation and improvement of employees, managing stress and conflicts to change implementation.

Organizers of the leadership course stressed that successful controlling, managing and planning are of key importance for modernization and professionalization of the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces of Serbia. In all segments a new type of managers-leaders is needed; those who participate in decision making, team building, improving relations between employees, solving potential conflicts and other everyday challenges.
