A visit from the delegation of the General Staff of the Russian Federation's Armed Forces
The delegation of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, headed by Deputy Chief of the Main Operations Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Victor Poznihir, visited the Department for Strategic Planning at the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia.The delegation of the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces of Serbia was headed by Major General Prof. Mitar Kovac, PhD, Head of the Department for Strategic Planning, and Major General Dusan Stojanovic, Head of the J-5 Department for Planning and Development of the General Staff, also participated in the talks.
During the work meetings, issues were discussed from the field of methodology of crafting strategic doctrine documents, challenges assessment, risks and threats to security of the Republic of Serbia and strategic planning. During the talks with the Russian delegation, they analyzed the present military bilateral cooperation between the Serbian General Staff and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, and possibilities for its advancement.
