Generals Dikovic and Farina arranged an emergency reinforcement of joint patrols

Concerning the terrorist attack that happened yesterday around 17.00 in Orlovac area within the Buffer Zone, and another terrorist attack that took place early this morning, when one member of the Gendarmerie was killed, Head of the General Staff General Ljubisa Dikovic talked this morning with KFOR Commander Major General Salvatore Farina.

During their telephone conversation, General Dikovic asked for bigger engagement of KFOR forces along the administrative line, in order to prevent illegal activities in this area.

General Dikovic particularly stressed that it is unacceptable to allow civilian groups armed with automatic rifles to move freely, to cut the forests unlawfully and attack security forces of the Republic of Serbia that are legitimately preventing them from doing so. Those armed civilians are thus committing acts of terrorism, such as attacking members of the Gendarmerie of the Republic of Serbia.

Head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Serbia and KFOR Commander agreed on arranging an emergent reinforcement of joint patrols, especially in areas where unlawful cutting of the forest has been spotted. General Farina also condemned the attacks on security forces of the Republic of Serbia.
