General Dikovic visited SAF members deployed in Obrenovac

Head of the General Staff General Ljubisa Dikovic visited today members of the Armed Forces of Serbia that are deployed in clearing up residential areas in Obrenovac afflicted by the recent floods that had hit that city.

On this occasion, General Dikovic stated that members of our Armed Forces had been working for six days on demolishing provided objects that cannot be repaired and adapted.

- I am extremely satisfied with our members’ work efficiency. So far, we have managed to clear up 76 objects, and eight more are planned for clearing up today, which is an extraordinary pace – General Dikovic stressed, adding that many citizens of Obrenovac are helping the military in order to create conditions for building new objects before the winter. He also noted that cooperation with officials of the local self-government is at a high level.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Zivko Jovanovic, Chief of the Army Workgroup, the Armed Forces are at this stage removing the objects that had been proclaimed unlivable, and that 67 members of all formations of the Army are deployed in clearing up, along with 35 machines.
