Protocol on Donation of the Defence Ministry of China signed
Defence Minister Bratislav Gasic and the Chinese Ambassador in Belgrade Li Manchang attended today at the Grand Hall of the General Staff the signing of the Protocol on Donation of the Ministry of Defence of the PR of China to the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia and the Armed Forces of Serbia, which includes equipment and medical supplies approximately worth 350,000 euros.On this occasion, Minister Gasic thanked the Ambassador for another aid, among many that the PR of China has given Serbia since our country had been hit by the disastrous floods in May. He reminded that last year, in May, China donated to Serbia over 2 million dollars.
- The Armed Forces of Serbia has had significant engagement and expenditure of means in the past three months, mostly in providing aid for our citizens across Serbia – Defence Minister said, adding that the given medical equipment and supplies will compensate for a part of spent resources. He pointed out that he had talked to the military attaché of PR of China in the past few days about possibilities for expanding cooperation in military-to-military, military medical and military educational segments.
Ambassador Manchang expressed his satisfaction with the fact that this is how he starts his duty in Serbia, reminding that the Serbian and Chinese people are connected by a long-lasting relationship.- When the disastrous floods hit Serbia, the people of China sent aid – modest, but symbolizing the support of the people – Ambassador Manchang said, adding that the time he spends as the Ambassador in Belgrade he will use to develop bilateral relations between the two countries in all aspects.
The Protocol on Donation of the Ministry of Defence of the PR of China, on behalf of the Defence Ministry, was signed by Brigadier General Zoran Popovic, Head of the Military Healthcare Department, and the defence attaché of China Senior Colonel Vang Haibin.
