Charity donation by members of the Cobra units to the citizens of Krupanj
Members of the military police special operation battalion "Cobra" sent today a humanitarian donation in food and milk to the collection centre of Krupanj municipality.According to Captain Mirjana Sakic, members of the unit, on their own initiative, collected money and bought the necessary provisions in order to help citizens of Krupanj, one of the cities where the recent floods have caused the most damage.
- Members of our unit participated in the rescue of people from flooded areas, and felt that this was one of the ways that can help people who, after all that has happened, still need help – Captain Sakic said .
On that occasion,
President of Krupanj Rade Grujic, thanking for the donation, said that on the territory of that municipality, which is still in emergency regime, 275 buildings suffered damage, 38 houses were completely destroyed, and the water supply and sewage networks have suffered very serious damage. The situation was further aggravated, as he pointed out, also by the fact that 227 kilometres of local roads were destroyed.According to him, the damage in that municipality is preliminarily estimated at more than a billion and a half dinars, and at the current stage what is most needed is machinery for elimination of flood consequences.
The humanitarian activity has been traditionally organized by members of the "Cobra" since 2009, by voluntary contribution collected and donated to those who need it the most.
