"Stanislav Binicki" ensemble in Switzerland
"Stanislav Binički" Art Ensemble of the Ministry of Defence and the most famous Slovenian musician Magnifico, gave a concert in the Swiss city of Stans, yesterday, at Stanser Musiktage, a large urban music festival. This year's jubilee 20th festival was held from 27 April to 4 May.
By their performance in Kollegium St. Fidelis they promoted music from one of the most watched films of Serbian cinematography in the last two decades, "Montevideo, God Bless You" and songs from Magnifico's album.
The audience enjoyed in the performance with a dozen of already-known songs such as "Here I come", "I'll kill you", "Just a minute" , "Zum zum kolo", "Serbian business", "I think" and "Here I am folks", as well as several new including " Bosangero " , " Rambo" , "Land of Champions" and "We'll Meet Again". Tireless visitors managed to call the musicians for an encore twice and to listen to some more songs.
The Art Ensemble performed under the baton of Major Igor Mitrovic, a band accompanying Magnifico was composed of Saci the drummer, Jan the bassist, Matija the violinist, Matej the saxophonist and clarinetist, Teo the guitarist and Ivan the trumpeter.
Before the concert, Major Mitrovic said that it was a great honour to be a special guest at the jubilee music festival at Stans.
- To be a special guest at a big festival, at the main stage, is a great honour and, at the same time, recognition for our work. In addition to good performance, it is important to represent all members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces in a right way while wearing the Serbian Armed Forces uniform. I expect a good reaction of the audience, and I believe this will be a spectacular evening - conductor of the "Binicki" said.
Before the performance, Magnifico also said that he expected a great concert and hoped to have a great time. He pointed out that he was satisfied with how the new songs that were rehearsed with the orchestra sounded.
- This is how I imagined how it should sound and look like. I believe that during the year we will achieve even better results, because we will have more time to rehearse also other songs that we did not present to the public – Magnifico said and announced that in the coming months he will perform once again before the Slovenian audience, and, as he hopes, the Belgrade one.
Stans is the capital of the Nidwalden canton in the heart of Switzerland. It is situated in a valley near Lake Lucerne, and south of the city there are the Alps. The Swiss Germans are traditional population of the city and the German language is the official language in the city and the canton.
