Multinational educational workshop opens at the Military Academy



Lieutenant General Prof. Dr. Miodrag Jevtic, Rector of the University of Defence, have opened today, in the auditorium of the Center for Simulation and Distance Learning of the Military Academy, the Eighth Annual Multinational Educational Workshop "New students, new methods, new assessments" for training of the teaching personnel.

The International Educational Workshop is organized by the NATO Partnership for Peace Consortium within the programme for the promotion of education in the field of defence, and the audience was greeted by John Kane and Amanda Sellers from the United States. They thanked the Serbian Ministry of Defence and the University of Defence for organizing the workshop, and pointed out that Serbia is an important factor in the field of military education.

General Jevtic said that this is just one of the activities under the Programme for the promotion of education in the field of defence, organized by the Ministry of Defence with NATO partners.

- The workshop is a unique opportunity to improve the existing theoretical knowledge and skills in the area of transfer of knowledge and practical experience in the application of modern educational methods in the teaching processes. Cooperation in this area is very important, because only a modern and flexible system of military education with modern methods can meet the demands imposed by the challenges, risks and threats that we face, the Rector of the University of Defence said.

The aim of the workshop is to improve the ability of teachers to transfer knowledge in the field of military education by introducing best practices and multifaceted educational methods in teaching. This workshop in Serbia is the first one that is organized in Southeastern Europe.

Participants in this workshop are also the representatives from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Macedonia, Georgia, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Mauritania, Moldova, Mongolia and Ukraine, as well as three representatives from the Republic of Serbia.

The workshop is realised by teachers from Canada, Germany, Moldova, Romania, Ukraine and the United States.
