Ceremony on the occasion of the school feast celebrating Saint Sava, the founder of education and the first Serbian archbishop, was held today at the Military Grammar School. State Secretary at the Ministry of Defence Zoran Djordjevic, Assistant Minister of Defence for Human Resources Milos Jankovic, representatives of the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Education, Serbian Armed Forces, Municipality of Savski Venac, as well as professors and students of the Military and Sports Grammar School, attended the ceremony.

This year's young host was Mladen Blagojevic, student at the fourth grade of the Military Grammar School.

Bishop Jovan (Culibrk) of Lipljan performed the traditional cake cutting, and stressed that the two schools are unique in the city, the people and the country just like the path of St. Sava on which he reached them was unique.

- The schools have the legacy that connects the maintenance of military spirit and the principle of "healthy body, healthy mind". They should educate the upcoming generations for centuries to come, to preserve the spirit about which we were taught by St. Sava, some to learn, and some to teach others, and all of us to rejoice this holiday, the Bishop of Lipljan pointed out.

Head of the Military Grammar School, Colonel Milan Stevic, said that we should think of Saint Sava and what he did in his life.

- When I think about it now, I wish everyone to find in himself a way to be a better friend, parent, man and worker, all with the aim that Serbia be better place for us, Colonel Stevic underlined.

Students of the Military Grammar School, after the traditional cake cutting ritual, made a performance in collaboration with the students of Sports Grammar School.
