First Air Serbia plane presented
The first plane of the new national airline Air Serbia, Airbus A 319, has been officially presented today at the Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport. The Ceremony at the Jat Technique VIP hanger was attended by the Serbian First Deputy Prime Minister, Aleksandar Vucic, General Manager of Air Serbia, Dane Kondic and Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Airways James Hogan.
Vucic said that the goal of the new national company is to be the strongest, best and most important airlines in the region. He pointed out that this may be a small step for the company, but a big one for the state of Serbia, and that all those who use Air Serbia will have nothing but praise for it.
Kondic pointed out that passengers on the world market opt for a particular airline only based on price, service, and comfort of travel and, therefore, Air Serbia must be better than others in all three segments.
According to him, the Air Serbia will contribute to the development of Serbian tourism and the economy and job creation, and the citizens of Serbia will get the company to be proud of.
The first Air Serbia plane landed at Belgrade airport on 19 October, as it was previously announced, and the first flight from Belgrade to Abu Dhabi will be realised on 26 October.
On Wednesday, 23 October, Serbia organized a test flight for Airbus A 319 aircraft, escorted by military aircraft "Super Galeb G4" and two MiG-29 fighter jets. On this occasion, they conducted activities within the regular flight training - "Escorting Civilian Aircraft".
As of the next year the new national airlines will have 10 new aircraft.
