Bronze medal for Serbia at 5th CISM Futsal Cup
The National Team of the Serbian Armed Forces won the third place at the 5th CISM Futsal Cup, held in Skopje, from 29 September to 3 October under the auspices of the International Military Sports Council CISM.
The winner of the tournament, where members of the armed forces of the six republics of the former Yugoslavia competed, was the Croatian team. The second place went to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia was the third, the fourth place was won by the team of Montenegro, the team from Slovenia won the fifth place, while the last placed team was that of the host.
Special CISM representative at this competition was Paulo Barbosa of Brazil, who pointed out during the awards ceremony that the tournament presented top-notch game and fair play, and that the purpose of the programme, the development of friendship and cooperation, was fully realized.
The first cycle of the CISM Futsal Cup tournaments, the initiator of which was the Delegation of the Republic of Serbia to CISM with the support of the International Military Sports Council General Secretariat in Brussels and the World Football Federation (FIFA), ends next year when the host is the Ministry of Defence of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The previous organizers of the tournament were Serbia, Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro and Macedonia.
The National Team of the Serbian Armed Forces included team leader Colonel Bosko Zoric, technical manager Lieutenant Colonel Dragan Todorov, head coach Zvezdan Sljivar, assistant coach Sasa Ozimic and players: Captain Milenko Cimbaljević Captain Miroslav Radovanovic, lieutenants Milos Sumarac, Nebojsa Jocic, Marko Djordjevic, Master Sergeant Milos Radovanovic, corporals Aleksandar Mihailovic, Dragan Stankovic, Peter Vucicevic and Cadet Demir Hanic.
Military Attaché of the Republic of Serbia in Skopje Colonel Zeljko Simic, organized the reception for the members of the Serbian national team at the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia.
