CHOD of the Croatian forces visits SAF GS



The Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Army Gen. Ljubisa Diković met with his Croatian counterpart, Lieutenant General Drago Lovric , Chief of Staff of Croatian Armed Forces, who began a two-day official visit to the highest military delegation and neighboring states .

The generals today will be discussing the possibilities of improving cooperation between the two armies in the field of military economy , education, training and exchange of experiences in the field of multinational operations . It is a first official visit to the highest level to country from the Croatian Armed Forces .

General Diković stressed that regional cooperation and good-neighborly relations are a priority for our foreign policy and the international activities of the Serbian Army go in the same direction. Sharing knowledge and capacities, particularly in the field of military economy, education and training between the Croatian and Serbian armies is intended to preserve and raise regional security to a higher level.

- We have had successful cooperation with the Croatian armed forces, which was launched a few years ago and this year we have 15 joint activities planned , wich shows an upward trend. We hope that this kind of cooperation and understanding that exists between the Armed Forces of the Croatian and Serbian Army will contribute to resolving all issues between the two countries at the political level - said General Diković to address the media .

The Chief of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces , Lieutenant General Drago Lovric expressed satisfaction with the visit to Belgrade , stressing that , some more than 2 decades ago, in the present building of the General Staff , he attended postgraduate studies in the then High center for Military Studies.

General Lovric agreed with Serbian colleagues and said that his delegation during their visit to do some interviews with representatives of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia and the Serbian Army. He recalled the recently successfully completed simulation exercise for "Instant Response 2013", during which the extremely high level of willingness to work together showed officers of both the army and said that a similar exercise be organized in the coming years .

- Defense cooperation with the Republic of Serbia is seen as a fundamental pillar of regional cooperation , and cooperation in the Euro-Atlantic processes such as the Partnership for Peace and the European Union . We believe that we can talk about the establishment of certain standards , particularly in the capacity building of European battle groups and in the process where we can exchange knowledge. since Croatia has these experiences , since on several occasions we have taken part in European battle groups - said Lieutenant General Lovric, adding that this would enhance the ability of both armies in future peacekeeping operations .
