Cooperation with Algeria
Assistant Minister for Defence Miroslav Jovanovic met with the Defence Attaché of DNR Algeria in Belgrade, Colonel Aisha Khaled Al Bay.
At the meeting, they exchanged opinions on the promotion of strategic cooperation in the field of defence and implementation of activities under the Plan for Serbia-Algeria military cooperation for 2013. Both sides agreed that relations between the two countries, based on the historical closeness and friendship of the two peoples, are traditionally good and unencumbered with open issues, and that the defence cooperation is the most advanced form of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.The Algerian Defence Attaché in Belgrade expressed satisfaction with the development and intensification of the overall cooperation, especially in the field of military education and military economic cooperation. He pointed out that the cooperation has an upward trend, and so far the successful results in this field have been achieved thanks to the professionalism and exceptional quality of personnel in the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia.
The interlocutors emphasized the need and importance of preserving the friendship of the two peoples and countries in order to achieve common interests.
It has been assessed that the organization of meetings at a high level, to exchange views and define strategic guidelines contributed to the further promotion of cooperation in the field of defence.
