Promotion of the book "Multi-purpose air craft"
In the atrium of the Central Military Club, the book "Multipurpose fighter aircraft" by Lieutenant Colonel Slavisa Vlacic published by Media Center “Odbrana” was promoted yesterday.
Speaking about the importance of books, commander of 204th Aviation Brigade, Brigadier General Predrag Bandic said that this book was, above all, necessary for the young airmen, and that Lt. Vlacic’s 15 years of experience in flying units and scientific work makes him a credible author.
- The target group of readers are the people who deal with aeronautical industry. It should be a challenge for them and to encourage them to think what way the industry and research in Serbia should take in the future- said the Mayor, adding that general we are a country with a long tradition of aviation, but also with a long history of aircraft manufacturing capacity, and that in this section the potential developments.
Military analyst Aleksandar Radic said that the author has a rich career and his has shared his experience in the above work, and it is also a synthesis of views and experiences of a generation of our airmen.
- This is the first integral work of its kind that deals with this issue and we practically do not have, a national aviation publication. The book came out at the right moment - Radic said, adding that defining today's multi-purpose combat aircraft is not simple, and the book provides a definition of such an air craft, and what performances it is expected to deliver.
According to the author who is head of the department at the Air Force Military Academy, the book is the result of twenty years of scientific work in the field of military aviation.
The motive to write such a work is multifaceted. In fact, for than two decades we haven’t had adequate literature in the field of military aviation, or a professional or popular, and the literature used by cadets is modest and outdated. What makes this book different from others from others is that it contains data obtained directly from the aircraft manufacturer - said Lieutenant Vlacic.
He explained that the book consists of two parts, the first, a more professional one, which answers the question of what the characteristics of by a multi-purpose combat aircraft are, and the second part is devoted to their particular description.
