Minister Vucic meets US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Philip Reeker

First Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Aleksandar Vucic met with the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Philip Reeker.

During the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister Vucic said that Serbia is fully committed to meeting the requirements for getting a starting date for accession talks with the European Union. He also pointed out that the dialogue with Pristina is to be continued and that Belgrade will implement the agreements reached in Brussels. "It's actions, not words, that matter. The Serbian Government has already taken a number of concrete steps in that direction", Vucic pointed out.

US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Philip Reeker said that the United States of America strongly support the continuation of the process of European integration, as well as the dialogue with Pristina, as evidenced by the recent visit of U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Reeker particularly praised the Serbian Government's commitment to fight against corruption, because it is one of the important preconditions for strengthening the rule of law, as well as the creation of a stable economic environment for foreign investors.
