Belgrade Attaché Association visits University of Defence

Representatives of the Belgrade Attaché Association led by the Defence Attaché of the Czech Republic Colonel Lórant Kürtösi visited the Rectorate of the University of Defence.

Welcoming the guests, the Rector of the University of Defence Lieutenant General Prof. Dr. Miodrag Jevtic underlined that although this higher education military institution is very young, military education in our country has tradition longer than 160 years.

- At one point, we assessed that it would be the best if all military scientific research resources were integrated at one place, which was supported not only by the Ministry of Defence, but also the whole university community in our country – General Jevtic said, adding that the specificity of that University is the fact that it has both academic requirements and those related to military tasks, and these are addressed through technical and technological sciences, humanities, and the field of medical sciences.

The Rector also pointed to the importance of mobility of both cadets and teaching staff, and took the opportunity to invite the military representatives to partnership in future cooperation in the military scientific and educational field, because, as he pointed out, knowledge and science do not recognise any borders.

Following the meeting, representatives of the organizational units of the University of Defence presented to the defence attaches bodies, management and programmes of the Military Academy and the Military Medical Academy.

In a discussion that marked the last part of the meeting they talked about the engagement of professors and lecturers from various civil structures, the importance of visits by delegations of higher education military institutions to the international organizations, as well as the possibilities for organizing instructions in some study programmes in English.
