'Jesen 2012" exercise held



Demonstration exercise of the third class of reserve officers, of medical and veterinary services at voluntary military service "Fall 2012" was held today at the Military Medical Academy. The exercise took place as a final part of camping that began on the 16th and ends on 23rd November.

Twenty-one doctors and dentists including 7 veterinarians participated in the implementation of the exercise, in addition to teachers of the MMA Medical Faculty of the University of Defence, helping third-year cadets and Medicine Academy, who served as marker. They provided great help to them and to the members of the center for medical tactics.

The commander of camping and demonstration exercise was Lt Col prof. Milan Petronijevic, the exercise being covered by the representatives of the military health care department, of General Staff, the Military Academy, the Center for peacekeeping, military medical centers, MMA teachers and MMA Medical School, including heads of organizational units.

The topic was medical support of a SAF squadron to a UN peace mission, a goal that listeners test their knowledge and gain new knowledge and experience in the implementation and control medical and veterinary units in UN peacekeeping operations, the organization of medical work by stages, providing medical assistance to the injured and patients, and in consideration of the specific organization of medical support in the UN peacekeeping operation.

The exercise took place at four setpoints: MMA from the amphitheater, where the participants familiar with the topic and details of the exercises, and telemedicine communication on the line MMA and military field hospital, through the work of chemical-toxicological Mobile team MMA in a terrorist attack with terrorists using sarin at a police station and providing care to the injured and sick, and then demonstrating work in the departments of military field hospital to the last point - the evacuation by from the MMA heliodrome.

At the end of the exercise, Brigadier General Marijan Novakovic, headf the Military Medical Academy, said:

The exercise was successful. Participants are extremely motivated, hardworking and willing to work, ready to put everything they know into practice. We are pleased to see that there are still doctors, dentists and veterinarians serving volunteer military service, who attend military schools and are willing to apply this knowledge in the institutions where they work. Probably some of them will still be activated in the service of the Army of Serbia.

- These are young people who do show great enthusiasm and dedication. They do complete a job just so it can be completed, but they show great dedication and this was shown today.
