Promoting coperation with the USA
State Secretary of the Ministry of Defence Aleksandar Nikolic, held talks with Deputy U.S. Ambassador in Belgrade Earl Licenberger and defense attaché U.S. Colonel Paul Broceni.Topics of the meeting related to further development of bilateral military cooperation through reviewing existing and completing already initiated projects as well as opening of new areas for possible cooperation in the future.
Both sides exchanged views and emphasized support for the continuation and further development of cooperation, particularly in the areas of professionalization of the armed forces, participation in joint training and exercises, strengthening the capacity of regional cooperation, further education and training of members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, as well as the work of the Joint Commission Serbian - U.S. issue of defense reform.The Secretary of State Aleksandar Nikolic said that the Ministry of Defence is interested in making the development project "South", and continuing education and training of personnel of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces.
the focus of future cooperation is the organization of joint training and exercises.
