A Full-Dress Rehearsal of the Distinguished Visitors Day during the River 2012 Exercise



Serbian Armed Forces Chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Ljubisa Dikovic, with his Deputy Major General Milan Bjelica and associates visited a part of the Serbian Armed Forces units deployed in Titel, where a Full-Dress Rehearsal of the Distinguished Visitors Day was conducted to be held during the River 2012 joint exercise in Titel, on 25th October.

On that day, participants in the exercise, which is conducted in 48 locations across Serbia are going to present to the state leadership, foreign military representatives, the media and the citizens a part of their capabilities in protection and relief in accidents caused by floods.

General Dikovic praised all the participants, noting that it is a high-risk exercise, and that in demonstration of the capabilities priority of all those who are engaged in the exercise is their safety.

The exercise involves members of the Armed Forces, Department of Emergency Situations of the Ministry of the Interior, and the Serbian Red Cross Mountain Rescue Service, and the exercise planned for the Distinguished Visitors Day will involve also the members of the Gendarmerie and the police helicopter unit.

One thousand and three hundred men have been training and practicing in peace operations of support to civil authorities in confronting unarmed security threats, commanding forces in operations and coordination of activities in conducting joint operations in the area of the third mission of the Serbian Armed Forces.

Head of the River 2012 exercise is Major General Goran Radovanovic, Commander of the exercise is Colonel Sasa Stefanovic and forces engaged in the view of operational capabilities on the Distinguished Visitors Day commander will be Colonel Zeljko Petrovic, Assistant for Operations, SAF Joint Operations Command.
