Angolan delegation visits MoD



The delegation of the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of Angola is paying a visit to the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia. The aim of the visit is to promote cooperation in social areas and to strengthen traditionally friendly relations between the two countries.

The meeting with the members of delegation: Vice-Admiral Valdemar Cristo de Oliviera, Colonel Jose Alfonso Martins, Colonel Maria Domigos Tomas and Lt. Col. Andre Francisco Quinda was held in the premises of the department for traditions, standards and veterans, which is hosting the visit.

Vice-Admiral Valdemar Cristo de Oliviera showed interest in the experiences that the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces had had regarding demobilization of the wounded members of the Serbian Armed Forces, their retraining, provision of social, health insurance and addressing housing issues as well as providing care for their families.

Chief of the Department for Traditions, Standards and Veterans, Colonel Sladjan Ristic in welcoming the guests, said that Serbia, in addition to a rich military tradition, had had experience in the implementation of regulations in the field of social protection and support of military veterans, people with disabilities, as well as taking care of wounded families and deceased members of the Serbian Army.

Angolan delegation visited the Directorate for Career Change in the Department for tradition, standard and veterans, where they were acquainted with opportunities provided by the Ministry of Defence of Serbia SAF to those members who leave the defense system for an easier integration into civilian life.

The visit envisions a meeting of Angolan cadets at the Serbian Military Academy, as well as the visit to the Military Museum at Kalemegdan and the Avala tower.
