Defence system members awarded medals

SAF Chief of General Staff Lt. Gen. Ljubisa Dikovic presented today at the House of Guards in Topcider military medals and commemorative medals to members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Army, which were granted by the former President of the Republic of Serbia and Minister of Defence.

By the decree of former President of the Republic, gold and silver medals have been awarded to 50 members of the defense system for their diligent service and outstanding achievements in carrying out the duties and tasks of protection and rescue of vulnerable citizens during emergency situations caused by heavy snowfall in the Republic of Serbia. By the order of former Minister of Defence, 5 members of SAF have received military commemorative gold and silver medals for excellence in Military Service.

Congratulating the awarded members of SAF, General Dikovic said that they by receiving these medals they have shown that the system was ready and able to meet the requirements.

- You are representatives of your teams and units, together you were solving problems in recent years, however your exemplary conduct, courage and sacrifice, made you stand out as the best team in your units, said the Chief of General Staff , stressing that it is not easy when you are the one standing out by the results in the collective, which bespeaks of high motivation and commitment to both the system and the state.

By working together and understanding each other we will more achieve your goals more quickly, we will be happier, and above all, operational capacity will be increased. Our people are the greatest advantage that this system has. It is the resource we must use, therefore it must be given due attention, said General Dikovic.

The ceremony was attended by members of the Minister of Defence’s staff and CHOD’s staff as well as the representatives of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces.
